HAY STREET OFFICE

Tasked with designing an office space for a Subiaco tenancy characterized by a depth double its width and partially obstructed windows, our challenge was to overcome the limitations posed by the lack of natural light in the rear areas. Our objective was to craft a design that prioritized brightness despite these constraints.

We developed a minimalist palette, predominantly featuring whites and light timber tones, with the aim of amplifying the penetration of natural light into the tenancy. An integral aspect of this design is the implementation of a timber screen wall, serving to delineate the reception and waiting area from the larger open-plan office. This thoughtful partition not only adds visual interest but also maintains a connection between the staff in the rear and the street, fostering an open and cohesive workspace.

In the boardroom, glazed panels flank the primary TV screen, facilitating the infusion of additional natural light into the expansive space. A timber screen wall serves a dual purpose by not only dividing the staff room from the primary open-plan office but also offering a visual link to the external surroundings. This thoughtful design enhances both the lighting of the deep tenancy and provides connection to the street.
